Our Story: The caddy you wish rode along.
Yardage Book is the golf rules guide that meets you where you play — on the tee box, in the fairway, and in the comments section. We explain the Rules of Golf in plain English, with a sense of humor and zero judgement.
Why we exist
Every weekend, golfers lose strokes they didn't have to lose. Not because they can't play — because nobody ever taught them the rules. The official Rules of Golf run 200+ pages. The USGA and R&A write them for the highest level of the game. Meanwhile, the rest of us are standing on a cart path, staring at our ball, and hoping the group behind us isn't watching.
We felt that gap. So we built the thing we wished existed: a guide that treats golfers like adults, gives them the actual rule number, and doesn't make them feel stupid for not already knowing it.
Our North Star is simple: you should never lose a stroke — or an argument — to a rule you didn't know.
How we teach
You've probably seen our little caddy on TikTok. That's the whole idea — a caddy who actually explains the rules instead of just carrying the bag. Every piece of content we make follows one formula: hook you with a relatable golf moment, teach you a real rule, and land it with something you'll remember.
When we teach a rule, we cite it by number — because the whole point is that you can stand behind it.
What we believe
- Practical first — We cover the situations that come up every round, not the obscure ones.
- Rule-accurate — Every answer cites the real rule number from the 2023 Rules of Golf.
- Zero judgement — You didn't know the rule. Now you do. That's the end of it.
- For the love of the game — More rules know-how means smoother rounds, fewer arguments, and more golf.
